Our team

Dr Yara Fernandez

Dr Yara Fernandez is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Metropolitan Hospital- N.Y. Medical College in New York. Dr. Fernandez received her medical degree from University Pedro Henriquez Urena in the Dominican Republic. She practiced general pediatrics at Brockton Pediatrics for 10 years prior to opening her own practice in Abington. Dr. Fernandez's greatest accomplishment has been the opening of her own pediatric practice, so that she may better serve her patients. She is married with 2 children and enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.

Dr. Laurie Massey

Dr. Laurie Massey joined Abington Pediatrics in January 2010 after practicing in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She is board certified and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is originally from Long Island and graduated from SUNY Upstate College of Medicine in 1996. She completed her pediatric residency at Schneider Children’s Hospital in NY. Dr. Massey currently works part time which affords her the opportunity to be more involved with her children’s schooling and activities. She lives on the South Shore with her husband and two daughters. She feels she has found the perfect fit after joining Abington Pediatrics and absolutely loves being a part of so many children’s lives.
